Heroes & Zeros will release a 5-track live record the 26th of July this year. “In The Slipstream Vol 1″ is the first in a series of alternative releases. The CD is limited to 1,000 hand-numbered copies and will be released at their Canal Street concert later this month. In a press release today, Heroes & Zeros dedicate the album as a thank-you to the fans.  Tracklist:1. That’s what Heroes & Zeros drummer Arne Kjelsrud Mathisen has to say about the band’s pre-production studio work, which they will conclude today.

In an e-mail to SuspendedEyes.com, Mathisen says the band is on schedule for their second album, and plan to go back to the studio after the summer.

“We got to try many new songs, and can tell you it sounds fuckin’ amazing”, he writes.

The band has played some of their new material at recent gigs, and will continue to do so throughout their short summer tour, which includes Arendal, Milan and Lakselv.

About their Milan show, Arne says “we will play together with Familjen (Sweden) and DJ Todd Terje, as well as enjoying a day off with Italian quality wine and architecture.”

In other news from the studio, Hansi is mostly wearing his converse shoes nowadays, Lars’ nose is no longer sunburnt and Arne has cut his hair for the summer, reveals Mathisen.

Heroes & Zeros will be playing at Ragnarock Nordic Festival in Milano, Italy, the 28th of June this summer. Tickets and more information can be found at http://www.ragnarock.eu/

The music video, featuring bicycles and boats in Heroes & Zeros’ hometown Lillesand, has been nominated for Best Video 2007 at Grimstad Kortfilmfestival.

Heroes and Zeros are hoping to release their next album some time next year, and will continue working on songs throughout the summer, says drummer Arne Kjellsrud Mathisen to SuspendedEyes.com.

“We have spent the last few months writing new songs, and we’re now slowly starting to work again with our producer, Thomas Tofte”, says Arne during a break from the band’s studio work in Oslo’s Zeroworld.

“We do this to further develop the (new) songs, try them out in the studio, and see if they’re good enough”, he continues, emphasizing that it remains uncertain whether or not these songs will be used on their upcoming record.

Heroes & Zeros are due to enter the studio again during the fall of 2008, to start preparing a new album for 2009 release. The pre-production sessions they are going through now involve playing “a good selection of songs”, with “no song titles ready yet.”

Although the band is planning to continue studio work for only a few weeks, their work on writing new material will continue for the next months, and will affect the number of live shows in the near future.

“It is not improbable that we perform some new tracks this summer, but we won’t be playing as much, but focus on song-writing,” says Arne, also confirming that the band will play at Canal Street (Arendal) and Midnattsrocken (Lakselv) the coming summer.

P.S. For those that have discussed Hans Jørgen’s shoe preferences in our forum, Arne can confirm that the band’s vocalist still “enjoys wearing both Converse and leather shoes, depending on his day-to-day mood.”

Heroes & Zeros have confirmed two shows for their 2008 summer tour:

  • Midnattsrocken, Lakselv, Norway (12th July)
  • Canal Street, Arendal, Norway (26th July)

The band are likely to perform fewer shows this year than last summer, as they will continue to work on new material.

IllustrationHeroes and Zeroes are heading back into the studio to produce pre-production recordings of some new material, according to the band’s website and MySpace blog.

The short message from the boys does not specify any details regarding location or number of songs.

We wish them the best of luck, and hope to hear some of the new material live this summer?

Dear all,

The latest addition to Suspended Eyes: a Photo page! Unfortunately, we do not have a upload function yet, but the main idea is that you all can contribute with your own pictures (and have them credited, of course). Until an uploader is in place, please feel free to e-mail your own Heroes & Zeros pictures to , let us know where they were taken, and we’ll put them there!

Or, if you don’t have any pictures available, just click ‘Photos’ in the right-hand menu, and check out other people’s!

P.S.: Please only send us your own pictures, and make sure you are the copyright holder of them.

Hey, we wanna make a lyrics page,
but it’s not always easy to decipher what’s being sung on a record!
If you have the chance, please check out the lyrics page (link in the right-hand menu) and add your contributions and corrections!
